Clinics & Services

Well Baby and Child Health Clinic

Parents or carers will be notified when baby immunisations and development checks are due and will be invited to make an appointment in the clinic at the surgery. Remember to bring your red book with you.

Drop in clinics for well babies are held at:

  • Kaleidoscope Children’s Centre (behind Exeter Hall) – Friday 1.00pm – 3.00pm
  • Yarnton Child Health Clinic at Yarnton Surgery, Rutten Lane – First Thursday in the month 2.00pm – 3.00pm

You do not need an appointment for these clinics, just drop in. The Health Visiting Team will be on hand to give advice and monitor growth and development of your baby or pre-school child. Remember to bring your red book with you.

You can contact the Health Visiting Team on 01865 379158.

NHS Health Check

Anyone between the ages of 40-74 that does not have a pre-existing chronic disease will be invited for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years.

Childhood Immunisation Clinics

Clinics are by appointment only.

Diabetic Clinic

The doctors see patients with diabetes during their normal surgery hours.

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

A nurse–run clinic is held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings; appointments are available by referral from your GP.

Physiotherapist

A physiotherapist from the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre holds a clinic at the surgery once a week on Tuesdays. Appointments are available by referral from your GP.

Minor Surgery

The doctors perform certain minor operations at the medical centre without the need to attend hospital. These include the removal of cysts, skin tags and suturing. Joint and soft tissue injections are also carried out. You should consult with your GP before booking into a minor surgery clinic.

Family Planning

Contraceptive services are available from all the doctors and the nurses. Cap and coil fittings are done by a female doctor and a family planning trained nurse. Consultations with your partner are welcome where the full aspects of contraception and family planning can be discussed. We also provide emergency contraception (the morning after pill).

Additional Services – Medicals

Dr Wallace and Dr Wallard will carry out medicals for insurance or other purposes. A fee is charged for such medicals. Please ask reception for a list of current fees.
